Pilates in Bristol

I have always loved exercise and have tried lots of different forms of exercise and workouts over the years, from growing up dancing, swimming and playing tennis, to discovering Pilates, Yoga as natural progressions to dance alongside lots of outdoors activities such as running, cycling, hiking, snowboarding and surfing. My teaching style is relaxed and upbeat, and I’d like to think that my classes, whether ‘regular’ or pre and post-natal are challenging so that people feel that they are getting a really good workout which remains appropriate and safe – I would rather offer adaptations and progressions rather than make assumptions about people’s abilities.

My Classes

I run 3 classes:

 

Power Pilates

This is a strong flowy practice which incorporates lots of core work as part of a series of exercises designed to tone, strengthen and stretch the body. People leave the class having worked up a sweat but also feeling like they’ve had a really good stretch.

 

Mum and Baby Pilates

This is a postnatal class aimed at new mums and designed to help mums regain their strength after having had a baby, as well as to address muscle imbalances resulting from a mixture of loss of core strength and physical requirements of early motherhood. The class offers a safe and yet challenging practice with adaptations to suit different needs and abilities. I am currently trialling running this class outdoors at Mina Road Park in St Werburghs therefore numbers are currently limited to 5 mums (+ their babies!)

 

Prenatal Pilates

This class is aimed at expecting mums and offers a variety of exercises specifically designed to be safe and yet effective and that can be tailored to any stage of pregnancy. The class includes both strengthening and stretching exercises and will assist in retaining or gaining joint mobility and alleviate any achiness resulting from having a growing bump.

Prenatal Pilates via Zoom (18:00-18:50)
