Roxy Whitehall-Smith

I’ve always had a love for sport and fitness (gymnastics is my favourite sport and I used to compete in competitions when younger). After sustaining a serious ankle injury, coupled with working a sedentary office job, I became unfit and struggled to shift the weight gain. However, when I took on an admin job within the sports department of a great college I felt so encouraged by the students and my colleagues, I was able to improve my fitness levels, get back into shape and feel more self-confident.

It definitely was not easy to start with, so I am fully aware of how challenging it can be to push yourself to start or to get back into exercising. When I did eventually reach my fitness goals I found exercise enjoyable and even fun again, all of which inspired me to want to help others to achieve their goals too. So I quit admin work for good, studied and gained a number of relevant fitness qualifications, bringing me to where I am today!

The thing I most enjoy about being a Personal Trainer is meeting new people and assisting them to reach their full fitness potential, at whatever level that may be. I love doing something I feel passionate about for a living and getting to know lots of interesting people whilst I do so – it’s incredibly rewarding and I wouldn’t swap it for anything.

About My Class

The fundamentals to having a great exercise session are hard work, patience, variety and fun, which is what I strive to bring to all of my sessions!

Our workout plans will be personalised and catered to your goals, preferences, ability and needs – whether your goals are weight loss, fitness, strength or endurance based I will happily help you towards achieving them!

I am also someone who strongly believes in balance – maximum effort in workouts and meeting agreed goals, balanced with not beating yourself up when new exercises take a little time to become familiar (I can always adapt certain exercises if required), adding in adequate rest, good diet but also ‘treats’.

So don’t hesitate to get in touch with me if you are a beginner to doing workouts, an experienced person wanting to be pushed further, or simply someone who wants to get a bit of their mojo back – either way I will create and deliver sessions that cater to your needs and preferences. In return we will laugh, we will sweat and we will get fit!

"Roxy is a great trainer. Together we have developed a training program and a set of goals that reflect my needs and aspirations. She motivates me to work hard and I am already feeling the benefits that I would not have achieved if not for her support and guidance. I can't remember looking or feeling better. It's great that my old clothes fit again and I get plenty of compliments about how I'm looking these days".
