Karate classes are typically split into 3 sections:

Kihon (fundamental techniques)

Kumite (partnerwork, applying the techniques)

Kata (set series of moves)

There is a set syllabus for each belt grade, so you’ll concentrate on learning those techniques/kata during each term

Classes are split into two groups, so the class pace can be set based on the knowledge and experience of the students –

6-7pm White (10^th kyu) to Blue (5^th kyu), then 7-8pm Purple (4^th kyu) to Black belt.

Wado Ryu is a traditional karate style, it translates into ‘Way of Peace’.  You move alongside your opponent utilising Tai Sabaki (body management) not physical strength.
