Hello! I’m Victoria, a certified STOTT PILATES instructor, runner and founder of RUNLATES – offering Pilates classes tailored to runners, alongside more traditional Matwork and small equipment.
I came to running in my early 30s, already training in Pilates but wanting to do something alongside to improve my fitness. After finding a great group of running buddies, one thing led to another and ended up signing up for my first marathon a year later… During training I appreciated how well Pilates had prepared my body for running, giving me the good form, strength and flexibility I needed to stay injury free.
Keen to learn more, I trained as an instructor then leapt into a career change less than a year later. I’m fascinated by the biomechanics of how we move, and how clever our bodies are at adapting – both to compensate for weaknesses and re-learn movement patterns through focused training. I love to share this with my clients as it’s important to understand WHY we’re doing an exercise a certain way… as well as how to do it!

When you come to my Pilates classes, you can expect a LOT of variety. I love small equipment and bringing new movement patterns to the class. Pilates is about making you more able to do all the things you want to do – you gain strength, flexibility and in my classes, we work lots on balance and coordination too.

Summary of Class
When working with someone new I think it is important to take a bit of time to find out more about the individual. Everyone is unique.
My style includes a mixture of mobility, strength and cardio. The sessions really depend on what the individuals goals are.

Summary of Class
My teaching style is relaxed and upbeat, and I’d like to think that my classes, whether ‘regular’ or pre and post-natal are challenging so that people feel that they are getting a really good workout which remains appropriate and safe – I would rather offer adaptations and progressions rather than make assumptions about people’s abilities.

Love of dance and being inspired by my Mother to practice yoga early in life got me interested in exercise and it seemed logical to teach what I enjoyed doing later on.

My style is very accessible and I like to build a rapport with my classes and clients as well as challenge them. I enjoy mixing things up so no one gets stale or complacent including myself!
