I am Michael Daynes, a Personal Trainer with 9 years’ experience working in a commercial gym environment, and as a self- employed trainer, alongside running Bootcamps across Kent for the past 6 years. A fully qualified, Level 3 Personal Trainer, with qualifications in Adapting Exercise for Ante and post-natal participants, Mixed Martial Arts fitness, Kettlebell instruction, and a shadow box instructor. Having worked with hundreds of different clients, I soon realised it takes more than just exercise to get the results required, your current lifestyle, and what you do outside of your training sessions also plays a massive part in the achievement of your goals. After many hours both training clients and researching, I realised the key to addressing this was to introduce small, achievable, daily habits, achievable being the operative word. Working together, small daily habits will be introduced which will give you a foundation to work from and build upon. Some people are happy with their lifestyle, do not require habit change, and just want to train, that’s fine, we can just focus on the training if this is you. The additional support is always there if needed.
I have been described by some of my Bootcampers as having a quiet demeanor upon first meeting me. After a few Bootcamps they soon realise this does not affect my ability to motivate. I’m not a shouty, loud trainer, having served in the military, I have worked with lots of Instructors who love shouting, and there is nothing wrong with this by the way, it’s just not my style. I prefer a more personal approach, moving around the group, coaching and motivating people individually.
A typical Bootcamp session consists of a 10 min warm up (5 mins mobility and 5 mins pulse raiser). The main workout is a mixture of cardio (this consists of short intervals of running and moderate to high impact exercises) alongside resistance exercises. Each session will give you a total body workout and maximise energy output in order to burn as many calories as possible.
