Jade Beckett

I first started practicing yoga in my early twenties.

I was at my absolute wits end – I’d hurt my back falling off a gym rope as a child and actually knocked my pelvis out of alignment. Even into my early twenties I had pain if I stood, sat or walked for too long so was classed as having chronic pain.

I decided to try yoga in a last ditch attempt to sort it out. I’ve never looked back. My pain was gone in a matter of weeks, I felt less stressed. After 5 years of practice, I decided to train as a yoga teacher and set up Pride Yoga to share the benefits of yoga in my community.

Pride Yoga is all about yoga without all the fluff – there’s no chanting, gongs, incense or nonsense.

Just straightforward yoga to get you stronger, more mobile and help your mental wellbeing too.

I offer classes that are accessible and I can accommodate pretty much any injury or condition into a class – you don’t need to speak another language or be spiritual to attend. It’s all about getting stronger, with improved mobility and reducing stress and anxiety.

My classes are easy to follow, I always offer options for modifications if you need them, I make yoga fun, enjoyable as well as challenging you and having a laugh along the way. I let my personality seep into class and encourage you to explore what feels good.

I’m a huge believer that yoga is for everyone, no matter your age, ability or physical limitation. There’s a way for everyone to practice, enjoy it and experience the mental and physical benefits of yoga.

My Classes

Yoga 101 is a Hatha & Hatha Flow style class.

This just means we move & breathe (think inhale arms overhead) then come back to a reset pose. Hatha Flow – we take a couple of postures together then reset.

We aim to build strength, mobility & flexibility, reduce stress.

This class covers everything – some poses to build with over time, poses to relax, as well as learning to have a bit of fun in a friendly, supportive environment.

I teach class verbally, with some demonstration.

Class is taught in plain English with detailed easy to follow instruction supported with demonstration as needed. This means I can monitor everyone in class closely; offering support and adjustments where appropriate.

It is suitable for all levels, including total beginners.

Suitable for those working with injuries or physical limitations as long as basic mobility is present.
